Forest fire in Çanakkale spreads to Naldöken village
Naldöken village, located near the area where a forest fire broke out in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale, has been engulfed in flames. Some houses and vacant buildings have burned down. Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing.
The fire broke out in a forested area near Naldöken village in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale at around 15:00.
The flames grew due to the effect of the wind. Upon notification, teams from the Çanakkale Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region.
Teams continue to intervene to bring the fire under control with 2 aircraft and 3 helicopters from the air, and 15 water tenders, 4 water supply vehicles, 16 fire trucks, 3 first response vehicles, 5 bulldozers, 5 trailers, 11 external agency support units, and 130 personnel on the ground. Strong winds are complicating the teams' intervention.
