Forest fire in Manisa continues for 8 hours
Efforts to extinguish the forest fire that broke out in the Salihli district of Manisa are ongoing. Two night-vision helicopters are also being used in the firefighting operations, which have now entered their 8th hour.
Intervention in the forest fire, which broke out around 15:00 in the Çelikli neighborhood area, began with 5 aircraft, 10 helicopters, 40 water tenders, 10 water supply vehicles, 5 bulldozers, 6 ground crews, and numerous firefighting teams.
The flames, spread by strong winds, reached the Çukuroba and Yeni Pazar neighborhoods.
Following nightfall, 2 night-vision firefighting helicopters were dispatched to the region.
Efforts to bring the fire, which has been burning for 8 hours, under control are continuing in the area, where entry and exit to both neighborhoods are being managed in a controlled manner.
