Former CHP mayor attacked
Muzaffer Şimşek, the former mayor of the Erfelek district in Sinop, was punched by an individual while out for a walk. Police have launched an investigation into the suspect, who allegedly attacked him while shouting, "You didn't hire my son."
Muzaffer Şimşek, a member of the CHP who served as the mayor of the Erfelek district in Sinop between 2014 and 2019, was attacked while on his daily walk.
According to the information obtained, an individual identified as İ.Ö. suddenly blocked Şimşek's path and launched a physical assault with punches.
"YOU DIDN'T HIRE MY SON" ALLEGATION
According to eyewitness accounts, the attacker shouted, "You didn't hire my son when you were mayor," while punching Şimşek. The attacker fled the scene following the incident, and police teams have launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect.
HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD
It was learned that Şimşek, who is known to have recently suffered a heart attack and undergone an angiogram, is in good health. It was reported that Şimşek was examined as a precaution following the attack.
