Former mayor loses life, wife and 1 other person injured
Two cars collided head-on in the Yenişehir district of Bursa. Former Yenişehir Mayor Mehmet Kaya lost his life in the accident, while his wife and the driver of the other vehicle were injured.
According to the information obtained, a vehicle driven by O.Y. and the vehicle carrying Mehmet Kaya, who served as the Mayor of Yenişehir between 1999 and 2001, collided head-on on the Kozdere road.
While the vehicles were reduced to scrap metal due to the force of the collision, Mehmet Kaya lost his life at the scene.
His injured wife, Kadriye Kaya, and the driver of the other vehicle, O.Y., were taken to the hospital by medical teams.
The gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the accident.
