Four people lost their lives in an accident in Susurluk

Four people lost their lives in an accident that occurred on the Bandırma highway in the Susurluk district of Balıkesir. The incident took place around 04:30 in the morning near the Ümiteli neighborhood. Bekir Kurt (50), who was driving toward Bandırma, pulled his semi-truck into the emergency lane when it started to rain, intending to cover his cargo with a tarp.

At that moment, a car driven by İbrahim İnal (44) rear-ended the truck. Due to the impact, the car driver İnal and his passengers İbrahim Çetin and Yılmaz Aydın lost their lives at the scene. The truck driver, Bekir Kurt, also lost his life in the accident.

INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE AT THE ACCIDENT SCENE

Following the accident, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification by nearby citizens. As a result of the examinations conducted by medical teams, it was determined that all four individuals had lost their lives. Fire crews removed the bodies from the vehicles and transported them to the Susurluk State Hospital morgue.

Traffic, which was provided from a single lane in a controlled manner for a while due to the accident, returned to normal once the vehicles were removed. An investigation into the incident has been launched, and inquiries into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
