Fire panic in a residential complex in Çanakkale! 10 people under treatment
In Kepez, Çanakkale, 10 people affected by smoke in a fire that broke out on the third floor of a building were taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
A fire broke out for an as-yet-undetermined reason on the third floor of a building located in a residential complex in the Hamidiye neighborhood of Kepez, a town in the central district.
TEAMS DISPATCHED
Upon reports from bystanders, fire crews from the Çanakkale and Kepez municipalities, as well as police and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene.
Some of the residents affected by the fire in the building were evacuated by their own means, while others were rescued with the help of the teams.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished through the intervention of the fire department.
10 PEOPLE UNDER TREATMENT
Ten people affected by smoke inhalation were taken by ambulance to the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Çanakkale State Hospital and the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Some building residents waiting for help on balcony railings and at windows were captured on mobile phone cameras by bystanders.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
