Governor's Office announces: Entry to forest areas in that province is prohibited!

The Çanakkale Governor's Office stated that additional measures have been taken under the coordination of the Regional Directorate of Forestry to combat forest fires, as meteorological conditions posing a very high risk for forest fires (high temperatures, extreme wind, low humidity) are expected.

In this context, within the framework of the 'Forest Law' No. 6831, the written statement indicated that entry into forests in Çanakkale, except for authorized personnel, is prohibited from June 1 until September 15. The statement included the following: "Citizens will be informed about the risk of forest fires using all communication channels; all types of vehicles and equipment that can be used in forest fires, such as bulldozers, graders, loaders, trailers, fire trucks, and water tenders, located in public institutions and organizations within the province of Çanakkale as determined by the 2024 Çanakkale Forest Fire Fighting Commission Decision, will be kept ready for duty at any moment during critical weather conditions; the necessary coordination for the immediate provision and transport of the relevant vehicles upon the request of the forest administration will be carried out by the Çanakkale Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Authority; necessary measures will be taken to identify those who cause forest fires, and legal proceedings stipulated by law will be applied to those identified as suspects; furthermore, the relevant matters will be announced to the village residents by the district governorships."
