In the incident that took place in Ankara's Keçiören district, Hakan Çakır, who ran a çiğ köfte shop, began arguing over right-of-way with Taha Z. (14) and Samet Z. (17), who were sitting on the stairs as his mother and sister were returning home. Hakan Çakır confronted the individuals who were verbally harassing his mother and 15-year-old sister. In the argument that quickly turned into a fight, Hakan Çakır was stabbed and lost his life. Çakır's older brother Hakkı Can Çakır and his father Şahin Çakır were also injured. Following the incident, Taha Z. and Samet Z., along with their older brother Emir Z. (19), their father Cemal Z. (45), and U.K. were taken into custody.

CONTRADICTORY TESTIMONIES FROM SUSPECTS

According to information reported by Ekol TV correspondent Kemal Akgündüz, the father, Cemal, who was arrested in connection with the murder, claimed that when he arrived at the scene, there were 6-7 men holding machetes, spiked clubs, and iron bars. Although Cemal claimed he did not have a cutting tool in his hand, this statement contradicted what was said by 19-year-old Ahmet Emir, who was sitting on the stairs and was released after the incident.

"I HIT SOMEONE IN THE EYE WITH A SPIKED CLUB"

In his statement, Ahmet Emir indicated that Samet and Taha arrived with clubs, while the father, Cemal, arrived with a cutting tool. Furthermore, he alleged that after the incident, Taha said, "I stabbed him 5-6 times, what am I going to do?" and that the father, Cemal, used the words, "I also hit someone in the eye with a spiked club."

The confessions made showed that the detainees admitted to the crime they committed among themselves immediately after the incident.

CRIMINAL RECORDS DRAW ATTENTION

On the other hand, it was observed that the suspects involved in the murder had extensive criminal records. While it was determined that the detained father, Cemal, had two criminal records, it was found that Ahmet Emir, who was sitting on the stairs when the argument started and was later released, had 9 criminal records. It was revealed that 14-year-old Taha, who is alleged to have committed the murder, had 5 criminal records, and his 17-year-old brother, Samet, had 9.

HE TOOK THE KNIFE FROM THE KÖFTE SHOP

It was determined that one of the knives used in the fight was taken by 14-year-old Taha from a köfte shop 200 meters away from the scene. In his statement, the shop owner said that Taha entered his shop and took the knife from the chef's counter, and when he warned him by saying, "Don't do it, my brother," Taha replied, "Sister, this is a blood feud," and left the shop. These moments were also reflected in security camera footage showing Taha walking with the object in his hand.

The father of Hakan Çakır, who lost his son, rebelled against the situation in an interview he gave recently and used the following expressions:

Please take a hand in these sentences; do not let children walk around just because they are young, please do not release them. Whether a law will be passed by Parliament or whatever needs to happen, let it change. Let another Hakan, another Ahmet not be lost. Our hearts are burning. Please do not release anyone from prison just because they are young. We have no business with such gangs or whatever they are. How can there be a fight with such cleavers and knives? We are 4 people against 20. Have some fear of God, at least a little. They have posts on social media; weapons and knives inside the car. These people are still outside. The youngest, a 14-year-old child, has 20 files. This child is outside killing my son. What is this, why is this child outside? One of them was out on parole, he had just gotten out.
