Horror in Denizli: Police officer commits suicide after murdering his family

In the Merkezefendi district of Denizli, a police officer ended the lives of his family members. The incident occurred in the apartment building where 35-year-old Coşkun S. lived with his family.

THE HORRIFYING TRUTH REVEALED BY GUNSHOTS

Gunshots were heard during the night at a four-story apartment building on 1731 Street in the Karaman neighborhood. Residents of the building immediately reported the situation to the police and medical teams. When the teams arrived at the scene, it was discovered that Coşkun S. had killed his wife, Nazlı (35), and their children, Duru (2) and Yağız S. (7), with a handgun. Coşkun S. had then committed suicide with the same weapon.

ATTACKED FAMILY MEMBERS IN THEIR SLEEP

Investigations by the teams determined that Coşkun S. had killed his family while they were asleep. The lifeless bodies of his children and wife were taken to the morgue of the Denizli Regional Directorate of the Council of Forensic Medicine by funeral vehicles following the initial examination at the scene.

It was alleged that the police officer was in a state of severe depression due to his debts, which led him to commit the murders and suicide. It was learned that Coşkun S. was stationed in the Cizre district of Şırnak and had come to Denizli a few days ago after taking annual leave.
