Illegal coal mines closed in Zonguldak
Five unlicensed coal mines in Zonguldak were closed by teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. In addition to the seized equipment, 25 tons of coal were handed over to the Regional Directorate of Forestry teams.
Zonguldak Provincial Gendarmerie Command teamsconducted an operation against unlicensed coal mines between June 11 and 13, 2024. During the operation, a total of 5 illegal coal mines were identified in the Kilimli district, including 3 abandoned and 2 owned sites.
At the closed illegal coal mines, 1 crane, 1 wheelbarrow, 2 wagons, 80 meters of rail, and 25 tons of coal were seized.
