Istanbul's most populous neighborhood revealed: 111 thousand people live there

According to Address-Based Population Registration System data, while the Bağcılar Neighborhood in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, with a population of 160 thousand 136, stands out as the neighborhood with the highest population in the country, the Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district followed closely behind with a population of 111 thousand 164.

While a total of 422 thousand 988 people live spread across 10 neighborhoods throughout Beylikdüzü, one in every four people in the district resides in Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood. The neighborhood's structure, shaped by high-rise buildings and numerous residential complexes on the border of Büyükçekmece, allows it to accommodate a large portion of this dense population.

The relative lack of parking problems, combined with the ease of various transportation options within the city, are among the important reasons for preference for the neighborhood's residents. Furthermore, Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood has surpassed in population Bayburt with 82 thousand 836 residents, Tunceli with 85 thousand 83, and Ardahan with 90 thousand 392 people.

In addition to this, the neighborhood's population has surpassed not only many districts in Anatolia but also districts with large surface areas in Istanbul such as Şile, Adalar, and Çatalca.

SOCIAL LIFE AND NEIGHBORHOOD IDENTITY

Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood Headman (Muhtar) Arzum Albayrak emphasized the neighborhood's position, stating, "Adnan Kahveci maintains its title as the most populous neighborhood in Istanbul and the second largest in Turkey this year as well, with a population announced as 111 thousand 164."

Headman Albayrak stated that the vast majority of the region consists of residential complexes, saying, "Because everyone has parking. We have parks, we have green spaces. Therefore, we can observe this crowd in the neighborhood in a proportional way. There are 50 avenues and 109 streets in our neighborhood. Actually, it does not have a very large surface area. Because it consists of residential complexes and high-rise buildings, our neighborhood's population number is very crowded."

She added, "But we want to measure our greatness not with numbers, but with the solidarity in the neighborhood. Because our neighbors in our neighborhood are very attached to each other."

Albayrak, who continues her duty as a headman as a woman, highlighted the difficulties she faced in the process and spoke as follows: "We turn these difficulties into advantages. Because a woman's power of communication and attention to detail naturally create different effects on our neighbors. We put in a lot of effort, and we are getting the results."

Due to the residential complex layout of the neighborhood, the expected crowd is not felt on the streets, and it seems that Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood will continue to attract population with new transportation opportunities and social areas.
