Medical student whose family could not reach her found dead in dormitory room
A medical student whose family could not reach her was found dead in her dormitory room in Zonguldak. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
The incident occurred in the evening hours at a private female student dormitory located on Dere Street in the Güney neighborhood of the Kozlu district in Zonguldak. Unable to reach Tuğçenaz Demirelöz, her family became concerned and called their daughter's friends, asking them to check on her in her room.
Upon entering the room, her friends found Demirelöz lying motionless on the floor and immediately notified the police and medical teams. Upon arriving at the dormitory shortly after, medical personnel determined that Demirelöz, a first-year medical student, had passed away. It was observed that the young woman's friends were deeply distressed at the scene.
After the police treated the death as suspicious, crime scene investigation teams conducted an examination of the room. Following the completion of the investigation, Demirelöz's body was transported to the Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital morgue. It was learned that the young woman had rented a new apartment on the day of the incident and had begun moving her belongings, and that a heart rhythm disorder had been detected under medical supervision some time ago.
The exact cause of Tuğçenaz Demirelöz's death will be determined following an autopsy.
