An argument over a debt in Adana ended in murder. The suspect, who fled after the incident, was captured in Hatay as a result of police efforts and was subsequently arrested.

ARGUMENT TURNED INTO A FIGHT

The incident occurred on May 13 at approximately 22:30 on Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard in the Onur neighborhood of the Seyhan district.

According to allegations, 32-year-old Syrian national Hasan Zerzur began arguing with his cousin, 21-year-old Ahmed Zerzur, over a money issue, claiming that Ahmed owed him 5,000 lira.

The argument escalated quickly into a fight, and Hasan Zerzur attacked his cousin with a knife he was carrying. Ahmed Zerzur, who was stabbed in various parts of his body, was critically injured.

HE LOST HIS LIFE AT THE HOSPITAL

Upon notification by bystanders, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Ahmed Zerzur, who received initial intervention, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Despite all efforts by doctors, the young man could not be saved and lost his life while under treatment.

CAUGHT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FLEE TO SYRIA

Following the murder, teams from the Murder Bureau of the Adana Police Department's Public Security Branch launched an investigation to capture Hasan Zerzur, who had fled the scene.

Determining that the suspect had left the city, the teams identified that he was preparing to flee to Syria. Police apprehended and detained Hasan Zerzur in the Reyhanlı district of Hatay while he was attempting to reach the border gate.

"I STABBED HIM WHEN HE DIDN'T GIVE ME MY MONEY"

It was learned that Hasan Zerzur, who was taken to the Adana Police Department, confessed to the crime during his interrogation.

In his statement, the suspect reportedly said, "I was owed 5,000 lira by Ahmed. When he didn't pay, we argued and fought. I got angry and stabbed him. I regret it."
