New development regarding the specialist sergeant who attacked healthcare workers

The incident occurred in the Hayrabolu district last evening.

According to allegations, the gendarmerie specialist sergeant, who punched and threatened to kill Paramedic Enes Abdullah A. inside and outside the ambulance while he was intervening to save a traffic accident victim whose heart had stopped, caused further disturbance at the hospital where he had gone to apologize to the medical team that transported the victim.

An administrative and judicial investigation has been launched against the specialist sergeant, who this time bit the cheek of and assaulted ambulance driver Cemil U. The specialist sergeant, who is alleged to have psychological issues, has also been suspended from duty.

In a statement regarding the matter, the Tekirdağ Governor's Office said, “A dispute occurred between a gendarmerie officer and medical personnel on duty in an ambulance during the response to a traffic accident that took place in the Hayrabolu district on April 12, 2024, and the matter has been referred to judicial authorities.

A disciplinary investigation committee was appointed on the same day regarding the incident, and the gendarmerie officer in question has been suspended.”
