One of two police officers who argued with a driver suspended from duty
It has been reported that one of the two police officers, who were subject to an administrative investigation for behaving in a manner unbecoming of the profession toward a driver they argued with in Esenyurt, has been suspended from duty.
In a written statement issued by the Istanbul Police Department, it was stated that an investigation was immediately launched regarding the police officers involved in the incident that took place in Esenyurt on April 9, footage of which was shared in some media outlets and on social media.
The statement said, "As a result of the investigation, it was determined that police officers M.C.Y. and R.Ö., who are assigned to the Esenyurt District Police Department, argued with a driver and behaved in a manner unbecoming of the police profession.
An administrative investigation has been launched against both police officers regarding the incident, and the police officer named M.C.Y. has been suspended from duty."
