Police issue 82,000 TL fine to 17-year-old
Police teams in Burdur, acting on a report that a vehicle had been stolen, pursued a 17-year-old driver. After crashing during the chase and attempting to flee on foot, the teenager was caught and fined 82,000 TL.
The incident occurred around 15:00 on Nene Hatun Street in the Armağan İlci neighborhood of central Burdur.
According to the information obtained, teams took action following a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center by a citizen named İ.G., stating that their car with license plate 15 NY 648, which had been parked near the Yeni Neighborhood Democracy Park, had been stolen.

After the vehicle was detected by License Plate Recognition System (PTS) cameras on Topraklık Street in the Bağlar neighborhood, police teams began pursuing it. Upon seeing the police, 17-year-old Ş.Y. panicked and began to flee.

TO BE REFERRED TO JUDICIAL AUTHORITIES
At the end of a chase lasting approximately 15 minutes, Ş.Y. crashed into a car waiting at a red light on Nene Hatun Street, got out of the vehicle, and began to flee on foot.
Cornered and caught by police teams in the garden of an apartment building, Ş.Y. was taken into custody and brought to the police station.
Ş.Y., who committed numerous traffic violations and drove without a license, was issued a total fine of 82,346 TL for various offenses. It was learned that the teenager will be referred to judicial authorities for the crime of endangering traffic safety.
