Sultan D. was one of the 8 people who registered at Altınbaş University with forged documents, and her enrollment was deleted on July 18, 2022. However, after her enrollment was deleted, this person continued to work as a doctor at Osmaniye State Hospital until 2023. According to official records, as a result of an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Health in October 2023, a decision was made to "suspend" Sultan D. from duty.

HOW DID THE DOCTOR WITH A FAKE DIPLOMA WORK?

According to information reported by Murat Ağırel in his column in Cumhuriyet, despite a year having passed since her enrollment at Altınbaş University was deleted, Sultan D. continued her duties as a doctor at Osmaniye State Hospital. Until October 2023, the doctor with the fake diploma continued to work because no control mechanism was activated. The decision to suspend her was made following an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Health's Inspection Board.

SECRET NAMES AND LATERAL TRANSFERS

Among the other individuals whose enrollments at Altınbaş University were deleted are Yeliz Ö., Serhat A., Fırat A., Recep S., Elif K., Güçlü A., Mustafa M.D., and Zafer A.K., and in addition to these individuals, information was also provided to Lokman Hekim University, where lateral transfers were made. Furthermore, a criminal complaint was filed with the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding these individuals.

WHY DID SULTAN D. NOT PASS THROUGH ANY CONTROLS?

The most important question is how a person whose enrollment had been deleted—meaning someone without a valid medical education and a medical diploma—could work in a state hospital for a year. Sultan D. continued to serve as a doctor for approximately 15 months after the date her enrollment was deleted until she was suspended from duty.
