Syrian fraudsters in Bursa posed as police and prosecutors: They swindled citizens by using theft and terrorism lies to instill fear

In Bursa, fraudsters identified as Syrian nationals swindled two citizens using the same method.

A fraudster who called M.K., a resident of Mudanya, introduced himself as Commissioner Tolga Can.

THEY USED THE LIES OF THEFT AND TERRORISM TO INSTILL FEAR

The fraudsters, who claimed that M.K.'s identity was 'involved in a jewelry store robbery in Mamak, Ankara, and that the individuals caught had been determined to have terrorist connections,' went to M.K.'s home and took 4 bracelets, 2 gold wristbands, 1 Reşat gold coin, 2 Ata gold coins, and 1 gold chain from M.K.

A SECOND FRAUD WITH THE SAME METHOD ONE DAY LATER

One day after this incident, another citizen was defrauded using the same method. The complainant A.G. also fell victim to the fraudsters, just like M.K. The fraudsters, who again scared A.G. by using the lie of a jewelry store robbery and terrorism connections, took 5 bracelets, 2 gold chains, 160 quarter gold coins, 1 Ata gold coin, 5 Republic gold coins, 30 half gold coins, and 120,000 USD from A.G.

Following the report, the Fraud Bureau, the Intelligence Branch, and the Mudanya Police Department took action.

Based on security camera footage, police units apprehended the fraudster Naım Salaha in İnegöl, where he resided.

Suspect Naım Salaha confessed that he carried out both incidents himself. Stating that he exchanged the gold he took from Mudanya in İnegöl, Naım Salaha said he sent the money to a name given to him by a money transfer firm operated by Syrians, and that he delivered the money and gold he received from the center of Bursa to an individual named Ahmed Abuenne.

Police units determined that the fugitive suspect Ahmed Abuenne had travel records in Batman. Following the investigation, the fugitive suspect Ahmed Abuenne was apprehended today.
