Tonya Mayor Beşel assaulted in his office

Osman Beşel was assaulted by 2 municipal employees with whom he had been arguing in his office for some time, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.

Injured Beşel was taken under treatment following the initial intervention by medical teams.

The two suspects were taken into custody by police teams.

AKP Provincial Chairman Sezgin Mumcu, in a post on his social media account, condemned the attack, stating, "This attack is also an attack on the will of the people of Tonya.

We will do whatever is necessary to ensure that the attackers receive the punishment they deserve within the framework of the law.

I will follow the incident to the end. I wish our mayor a speedy recovery."

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that 2 suspects have been taken into custody as part of the investigation into the attack on Tonya Mayor Osman Beşel.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç condemned the attack in a post on his social media account, stating, “Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Tonya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the physical assault on Tonya Mayor Osman Beşel in his office, 2 suspects have been taken into custody. I wish Tonya Mayor Osman Beşel a speedy recovery and strongly condemn the attack.”
