Truck hits vehicle carrying teachers waiting at bus stop

According to the information obtained, teachers H.K., Ö.Ç., C.Y., and O.M., who work at Mahzemin Imam-Hatip Secondary School, went to the bus stop to go home. At that moment, a local resident named Y.K. saw the teachers and picked them up in his light commercial vehicle with license plate 38 AIK 062.

The light commercial vehicle, which was attempting to turn at an intersection on the Kayseri-Ankara Highway in the Mahzemin neighborhood of the Kocasinan district, was struck by a truck loaded with stone, driven by M.K. and bearing license plate 38 HP 824. Due to the impact, the car was dragged, and the truck overturned into the ditch.

In the accident, teachers H.K., Ö.Ç., C.Y., and O.M., who were in the light commercial vehicle, as well as the driver Y.K. and the truck driver M.K., were injured. Upon notification, police, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. While police and gendarmerie teams took security measures in the vicinity, medical teams determined during their initial intervention that H.K., a science teacher at the school, had lost their life.

The other injured individuals were taken to Kayseri City Hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment. After the investigations, the car was removed from the road by a tow truck, and the road was reopened to traffic.

An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
