Unprecedented cruelty: 10-year-old child buried alive

In the Reyhanlı district of Hatay, 10-year-old Syrian national A.A., who was reported missing by his family 2 days ago, was found as a result of search efforts. Following A.A.'s disappearance, intensive search operations conducted by security forces and non-governmental organizations in the region tracked the child's trail. Investigations revealed that A.A. had been taken to the vicinity of the Reyhanlı Dam by his uncle, M.E.

With the support of search-and-rescue teams affiliated with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (İHH), A.A.'s body was found in the Mehmetbeyli area. Initial examinations determined that part of the child's body was buried underground and that he had been beaten and injured on the head.

RUSHED TO HOSPITAL

Following initial intervention in the area, A.A. was transferred to Reyhanlı State Hospital. After receiving initial treatment, the child, whose condition remains critical, was sent to Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Research and Application Hospital.

UNCLE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

Following the incident, the child's uncle, M.E., was taken into custody as part of the investigation into A.A.'s disappearance. The investigation conducted by the Gendarmerie teams is ongoing.
