The fire occurred around 10:00 at the Aktiv Palet Factory located in the Çayırova district. The fire, which started for reasons yet to be determined, grew rapidly. As flames rose into the sky, black smoke covered the surrounding area. Reinforcement teams from Kocaeli and its districts, as well as from Istanbul, were dispatched to the region. The teams spent a long time working to extinguish the flames rising into the sky. After approximately two hours of work, the fire was brought under control, and police teams also intervened in the flames with water cannons (TOMA). "TWO OF OUR CITIZENS ARE INJURED"

Darıca District Governor Yüksel Kara, who arrived at the region to manage the extinguishing efforts, said, "We are at the scene regarding the fire that occurred at a factory in the Şekerpınar region. We have currently taken the necessary security measures. Our teams are in the area against the possibility of the fire spreading. Two of our citizens were injured during the intervention in the fire. One is a firefighter, and one is a worker. The fire is under control. Our greatest consolation is that there was no loss of life. We convey our best wishes for a speedy recovery."
