Violence in healthcare occurs between doctors this time: 'Doctors have filed complaints'

According to the information obtained, a dispute between a doctor who came to the Urology clinic at Giresun Training and Research Hospital for an examination, who did not want his name disclosed, and Dr. Uğur Semiz, whom he wanted to be examined by, turned into violence. 

Both doctors have filed complaints against each other.

Making a statement regarding the incident, Giresun Training and Research Hospital Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fazıl Kulaklı said, "We strongly condemn the attack on our Assistant Doctor Uğur Semiz, who works in our hospital's Urology Clinic. 

The legal process regarding the attack has begun, and we will be closely following this process," he said.

The Giresun Medical Chamber, in a statement made on its social media account, said, "Dr. Uğur Semiz, one of the assistant physicians in the Urology Department of Giresun Training and Research Hospital, was assaulted by a patient while on duty today around 15:30.

We extend our get-well wishes to our colleague," the statement read.

"I WAS DEPRIVED OF MY RIGHT TO HEALTH"

The doctor who did not want to disclose his name said, "I went to receive treatment as a physician. I was deprived of my right to health, which is my most natural right.

I was subjected to mobbing, threats, and assault, and I acted in self-defense, left the scene, and have exercised all my legal rights," he said.
