Belgian police conduct operation against PKK terrorist organization's television channels

According to the Belgian press, federal police raided offices located in the town of Denderleeuw in the country's Flemish Region, which are used by "Sterk TV and Medya Haber TV," outlets that broadcast propaganda for the PKK terrorist organization.

The operation, in which a large number of Belgian police officers participated, involved searches of the offices. During the operation, which lasted approximately 5 hours, some computers and numerous documents were seized.

Denderleeuw Mayor Jo Fonck confirmed that the police had conducted an operation on the terrorist organization's television station.

On March 25, a group of approximately 150 supporters of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization tore down barricades and attacked police in front of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The crowd, which wanted to march first to the street where Turkey's Embassy in Brussels is located and then toward Schuman Square, where EU institutions are based, was met with police resistance.

SLOGANS WERE CHANTED IN FAVOR OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

The organization's supporters, who continued their violent acts in the country, also caused disturbances throughout the same night in the village of Cheratte, which is part of Liege and has a population consisting mostly of Turks.

The group set fire to the Ülkü Ocakları building and also attacked a mosque, breaking its windows. The group, with their faces covered, walked through the streets chanting slogans in favor of the terrorist organization and damaged homes, shops, and vehicles belonging to Turks.

On March 24, in the city of Heusden-Zolder, about an hour away from Brussels, PKK supporters returning from so-called Newroz celebrations drove through a street heavily populated by citizens of Turkish descent, displaying rags symbolizing the terrorist organization and posters of its ringleader Abdullah Öcalan.

Citizens of Turkish descent living in the city reacted to this, which led to a brawl.

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo had stated, "Demonstrating sympathy for an organization classified as a terrorist organization, such as the PKK, and engaging in provocation is intolerable."
