What happened at TELE 1 following the trustee decision... Conversations revealed

Evrensel columnist Fatih Polat wrote that the trustee management appointed to TELE 1 initially informed employees, excluding the control room team, that "there is no need for them to come to work until Monday." This decision was announced to the staff by the trustee management. However, in the following hours, this decision was changed after channel executive Süleyman Sarılar announced that the weekend team would continue to work.

TRUSTEE APPOINTED BY TMSF: "OUR PRIORITY IS STAFF SALARIES"

Polat also provided information regarding the meeting held by trustee İbrahim Paşalı with the employees. Paşalı, the trustee appointed by the TMSF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund), made statements regarding the channel's financial situation during the meeting, saying, "Our priority is staff salaries."

Polat wrote the following in his column:

"It was communicated to the employees by the trustee that 'there is no need for employees other than the control room team to come in until Monday.' This means that the channel, which has passed to the TMSF, will now continue its path with a new 'broadcasting policy.' However, later, channel executive Süleyman Sarılar announced that the weekend team would come to work over the weekend. Therefore, there was a change in the initially announced decision. Murat Taylan then told his colleagues, 'The channel is our channel, come in.'

The channel's lawyer, Bilgütay Hakkı Durna, who held a meeting with the employees, stated that in the coming process, employees would make their own personal decisions from the perspective of labor laws and legal aspects. He informed the employees about their rights.

When a channel employee asked what might happen if they were asked to do work that went against their own principles, Attorney Durna said, 'That would be your personal stance. The relationship between employer and manager is defined in labor laws and the Press Law. What will happen in the event of a request contrary to this is clear.'"

"Our priority is staff salaries"

"As we were writing this article, İbrahim Paşalı, who was appointed as trustee, made a brief statement to the employees, saying, 'I have been at the TMSF for about 20 years. Unfortunately, you are experiencing this for the first time. I hope it will be the last time you experience it. Bank accounts are blocked. Our priority is staff salaries. Get well soon. I am the chairman of the board.'"
