Constitutional Court ruling not implemented: Altaylı criticizes the opposition

Journalist Fatih Altaylı commented on the second rights violation ruling issued by the Constitutional Court regarding TİP Hatay MP Can Atalay as follows: "If the opposition does not speak out against the end of justice, then the country is finished and has started playing out the clock." In his column, Altaylı further stated, "A country where justice has been ended is finished. If the opposition does not speak out against the end of justice, it has gone beyond being finished and has started playing out the clock."

Stating that this is a very clear Constitutional crime, Altaylı said, "The court is issuing the same ruling once again. It is clear from the start that this will not be implemented either. And there is not a sound from anyone. If the rule of law has disappeared to this extent in a country, if even the ruling of the highest judicial body is not implemented, if this situation has reached a dimension that endangers the life and property security of all citizens, and if no one speaks out against this... If all opposition parties, including the main opposition party, are silent in the face of this 'disgrace,' and if the debate over whether a 100-year-old traitor whose treason is registered by a court ruling is a traitor or not is seen as more important than this issue where the law is being trampled upon... It is not easy to look to the future with confidence or without fear in this country."

Altaylı continued: "A country where justice has been ended is finished. If the opposition does not speak out against the end of justice, it has gone beyond being finished and has started playing out the clock."
