‘Alliance’ statement from the Justice Party: 3 parties are leading the way

As local elections approach, inter-party alliance negotiations continue. During the period when the Nation Alliance dissolved, the Justice Party, the True Party, and the National Path Party began working to form a new alliance.

Justice Party Chairman Dr. Vecdet Öz evaluated recent events in a post on his social media account. Öz emphasized that Gaza is being used as a pretext to intimidate society. Announcing the alliance efforts, Öz also requested suggestions for a name for the alliance led by the Justice Party, the True Party, and the National Path Party.

Öz’s post titled ‘We will not fall for the game’ is as follows:

“A handful of provocative groups with ties to foreign-backed communities and sects, which do not represent the Muslim majority living in our country but rather irritate them with their actions, have taken their political extensions with them and poured into the squares with caliphate rhetoric since the first day of the new year to stir up society and create a new agenda to cover up the country’s deepening economic crisis.

Another purpose of this action, carried out under the pretext of Gaza, was to rehearse the final action they desire in the future and thereby intimidate society. We will not fall for such games, we will be vigilant at all times, we will never resort to violence in the face of provocations, and we will push democratic channels to the end.

The days when we will take to the squares and show our strength in a celebration of civilization every time are national holidays, and we showed this to the whole world most recently on October 29. Now it is time to show this power at the ballot box with the same enthusiasm and effort, without being divided!

As you all know, local elections will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024. It is a national necessity for us to go to the polls very strongly and as a single piece, just as we did on October 29. For this reason, we have been carrying out an important study for a long time to gather all opposition parties under a single alliance roof. This work must now turn into a political Defense of Rights movement in the face of the mentality that emerged on the first day of the year and shows its true face more openly each time, and the dire situation the country is in.

It is everyone’s national duty to support and be included in this alliance effort, which will put a stop to the reckless one-man regime that sees everything it does as permissible in a state of power poisoning and sees no harm in overstepping its bounds.

This work, led by the Justice Party, the True Party, and the National Path Party, will reach a conclusion in a short time thanks to your support. My request from you is to mobilize your surroundings in this direction and to suggest a name for the alliance to be established that the majority will democratically agree on, in terms of representing its purpose. ‘The Republic of Turkey will remain forever as a Secular, Social, Democratic State of Law.’”
