Kemal Okuyan: 'The blood on Trump's ear'
Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) General Secretary Kemal Okuyan evaluated the American elections in his column titled “The blood on Trump’s ear” on the soL News Portal.
TKP General Secretary Kemal Okuyan has penned an article concerning the upcoming US elections and Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Here is Okuyan's article:
"Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired at Trump, may be a former supporter who became disillusioned. Even if it is a low probability, the attack could be the product of purely personal motivation. At certain times, such personal initiatives can lead to major socio-political consequences.
At what times?
In times of crisis, in periods when uncertainties increase, at moments when too many actors are involved and contradictions have accumulated excessively…
Otherwise, in many cases, no one would even hear about personal initiatives…
As I said, there are many factors in the US—which is becoming increasingly sensitive and spiraling into a very serious political crisis—that pave the way for someone who wants to shoot a former president (and new presidential candidate) based on a personal decision. Political crises also bring with them intelligence and security vulnerabilities. Indeed, the list of negligence in the attack on Trump is very long. Moreover, there does not even need to be negligence. There is always the possibility that some people might turn a blind eye to such actions.
I am not claiming that Trump's ear bled as a result of an individual act. I am saying that this could even be the case.
Another option is that a well-planned action was carried out to turn Trump into a hero. The death of the perpetrator is of no consequence; there are many fanatics in the US, especially among Trump supporters. They are ready to kill and to die.
Well, can such a risky setup be organized? What if the bullet had missed by a few centimeters? According to experts in the US who follow the subject, 150 meters is sufficiently suitable for such a 'fine' calculation. To put it the other way around, it is surprising that Crooks missed Trump. In other words, it is possible that a plan was made to wound him rather than kill him, in order to turn him into a hero. Even though the attacker firing three shots weakens this 'theory'…
In summary, a lethal blow to Biden, who is wobbling with every move and every lack of movement, may have been intended to be struck with Trump's blood-stained face. It is also possible that the source of such reasoning is not inside the US, but outside.
What will never be the case, as some claim, is that the event was planned by Trump himself… It is unthinkable that a man who loves himself more than anything, who is selfish, money-grubbing, and a fraud, would show such courage while on the verge of winning.
Another possibility is that this bullet was sent toward Trump's head as a 'golden shot' by those in the US who want to prevent his election at any cost, and it missed its mark.
If some findings emerge in this direction, I suppose no one would be surprised.
In my opinion, one should not be surprised by any of these possibilities. Because the US is facing a dual, interrelated crisis.
First, it is not only unable to maintain its hegemony within the imperialist system as it once did, but it is also struggling to manage the global crisis that has emerged.
Second, the political system, which functioned independently of the IQ of presidents in ordinary times, is now on the verge of collapse. We all know that the US is not encountering dim-witted presidents for the first time. But in the past, the US ship was sailing just fine with them. However, things are currently in a mess; nothing is walking, floating, or moving.
To understand what might happen in the US in the near future, one must take a closer look at the factors accelerating this collapse today.
In the first place, one must write down that the major monopolies are locked onto the opportunities created by this state of collapse. The moves of giant companies, whose priority is to create new opportunities by taking advantage of the gaps rather than ending the management crisis, and the preferences they impose on the political system by thinking they can manipulate stupid presidents more easily, are deepening the crisis.
Secondly, we can mention that the shocks created by some relatively new major monopolies in the internal balances of the US economy have added new elements to the political crisis. We are in a strange period where Bill Gates, who was considered a newcomer until yesterday, has reached veteran status among American exploiters. It is a clear fact that Amazon and Musk's companies have turned all balances upside down in a short time.
Three… The 'dumbed-down society,' which for years was the greatest guarantee of the system in the US, has rotted to an extent that it can no longer fit into the role assigned to it, and a malicious system of values adorned with racism, bigotry, selfishness, and religiosity has become the morality of a very large segment. It is this sociality that keeps Trump standing in the US, despite all the scandals and the attempts at obstruction coming from within the 'establishment.' After the Capitol Raid that took place immediately after the previous presidential election, I thought it would be very difficult for Trump to return. Perhaps one should not speak too soon, but the reason Trump has remained standing so far and is the strongest presidential candidate in the upcoming election is the depth of the crisis and the fact that this crisis has solidified the social segments that have adopted the 'Trump morality' I mentioned.
Four… Evil and stupidity have bonded a segment of US society. What about the other side? Is there goodness on the other side? Those who tried to lecture us on Marxism when we insistently said that Biden would bring war to our region and that we would not be facing a better world if he were elected, later buried themselves in silence as always. The fact that the masses pinning their hopes on Biden are more 'preferable' than Trump's base does not change anything; it even complicates matters. The Democratic Party leadership exploits a large segment of society that is uncomfortable with phenomena such as racism, ignorance, and religious fanaticism. Then come the deep disappointments, and racism, ignorance, religious fanaticism, and even fascism take advantage of this disappointment…
Biden's actions and exhaustion benefit Trump, and Trump's lying and stupidity benefit Biden, but both the peoples of the world and the increasingly desperate laborers of the US are constantly losing.
Five… The US has long ceased to be a role model. US imperialism used to have an ideological-cultural secretion that would attract people. It is not possible to explain the disappearance of this solely through the economy. This loss of credibility, which is the product of very complex internal and external dynamics, has completely eliminated the harmony between the gears of the system in the US. In a system without a legitimacy problem, harmony is easier to achieve. A legitimacy crisis, of course, accelerates the collapse.
The system in the US has collapsed. We will see how this recovers or if it recovers at all. However, some possibilities need to be noted right now.
It can be expected that the collapse in the US will lead to the expansion of the scope of ongoing wars in the world or the occurrence of new conflicts. In fact, it is a strong possibility that more than one institution of the system in the US will choose 'war' to stop the collapse.
However, for the US, war may not only mean an armed conflict in Ukraine, Palestine, Syria, or another geography. The possibility of a civil war in the US is also higher than ever. The fanaticism of Trump supporters and their being armed to the teeth is a product of the security search of the property-obsessed middle classes, but it is now much more than that. There is no consolidated power against this; Biden's supporters are loose and indecisive in this regard, but it is by no means possible to define the poor blacks and Latinos of the US as 'docile.'
Another weak point of the US is the state system. When economic problems deepen and the ideological-political glue that makes the central government strong melts, the state system becomes extremely fragile. This is what is happening right now. The tendency of states to act more autonomously in every respect and the spread of ideological-cultural migration between states are indicators that social unrest, which can be triggered by a thousand and one reasons, could turn into a civil war.
Despite the clearly pro-Zionist stance of the administration and both sides of the two-party political structure, it should also be taken into account that social turmoil or civil war in the US may not remain within the boundaries of the order, as in the example of Palestine solidarity catching a very strong wind in society in a short time. The fact that the large-scale movement that emerged against police violence in recent years gained a dominant class character in some examples and turned into outright labor anger can be evaluated as a phenomenon supporting what I have said.
As of today, it appears that the US administration, with all its institutions, does not have a tool to stop the collapse we have mentioned. However, the number of those among the owners of the order who are worried about this situation and are looking for a solution is increasing rapidly. A solution, of course, cannot consist of finding another candidate to replace Biden. That would not bring a solution anyway.
The problem is far beyond Trump or Biden. And it concerns the whole world.
There is good in every development that will weaken US imperialism. However, one must be prepared for the consequences of the severe fractures that may occur within the body of this great power, which has infected almost every point of the world. Opportunities and threats usually make themselves felt at the same time.
Let us not forget, US imperialism still has the ability to carry the blood on Trump's ear to lands far away.
This power can be defeated not by bargaining or maneuvers, but by an anti-imperialist struggle carried out openly and with popular participation."
