Politics; why and how?
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer penned an article titled "Politics; Why and How?" in which he made significant observations regarding the essence of politics and its current state.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, in his article "Politics; why and how?" published in BirGün, emphasized that politics is the will to build/rebuild the world and to improve and beautify life, stating that this will requires a consciousness of living together and a sense of responsibility. Noting that politics is directly related to morality and conscience, Soyer drew attention to the dangers that arise when politics loses its sense of responsibility and is reduced merely to winning elections.
Soyer concluded his article with the following words:
"This political sphere, which draws strength from justice and equality and is shaped by democratic principles, will be the key to transformation. And it must happen without delay, starting today. Let there be a future."
