50 million TL from the Ministry's coffers to the AKP-run municipality!
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization will donate 50 million TL in revenue generated from Treasury lands to the AKP-run Sincan Municipality.
While the government exerts pressure on municipalities managed by the opposition through financial sanctions, the appointment of trustees, and investigations, it continues to provide significant financial support to its own municipalities. Most recently, according to a report by İsmail Arı from Birgün, it has been reported that a total donation of 50 million TL was made to the AKP-run Sincan Municipality by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
While 40 million TL of these donations is financed by revenue generated from Treasury lands, the Turkish Environment Agency will also transfer an additional 10 million TL to the municipality.

Following a 30 million TL donation from the Palace, the AKP-run Sincan Municipality in Ankara will now receive a donation from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, led by AKP member Murat Kurum.
During the March session of the Sincan Municipal Council, a conditional donation of 40 million TL from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change was accepted. The accepted proposal states, "The acceptance of a conditional donation of 40 million TL to our municipality by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change from the revenue generated by the sale of Treasury lands in Sincan..."
TRANSFERRED TO THE COFFERS
Furthermore, a 10 million TL donation from the Turkish Environment Agency, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, was also accepted by the Municipal Council.
Thus, the transfer of a total of 50 million TL from the Ministry's coffers to the Municipality under the name of a donation was approved.
During the February session of the Sincan Municipal Council, another "Donation" proposal had been put to a vote. The proposal stated that "the Presidency's Directorate of Strategy and Budget made a conditional donation to the municipality to support ongoing investment projects and social assistance."
The proposal explained that the Presidency had sent 30 million TL to the municipality's bank accounts on December 31, 2024, and that a vote in the Municipal Council was required to accept the conditional donation in accordance with Article 18 of the Municipal Law No. 5393. In the vote held on February 3, the Presidency's 30 million TL conditional donation was accepted unanimously.
SHAKING UP THE OPPOSITION
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan had previously instructed in a statement regarding opposition municipalities to "shake them up." Erdoğan had said, "I invite the opposition, which announces minimum wages via auction, to pay their accumulated debts to the Social Security Institution (SGK) if they are going to do something for the benefit of the country and the nation. Mr. Minister, it would be beneficial for you to shake them up much more decisively."
