Two CHP members of parliament, Murat Emir and Evrim Rızvanoğlu, have made history in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey by marrying while still in office.
An unprecedented event has taken place in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir and Istanbul MP Evrim Rızvanoğlu have united their lives while their parliamentary terms are still ongoing. Thus, for the first time in the history of the Assembly, two members of parliament currently in office have entered into marriage.
Although the deep-rooted history of the TBMM has witnessed many events, this is the first time that two sitting MPs have sat at the wedding table under the roof of the Assembly.
