'Access ban' on Kılıçdaroğlu administration from the worlds of academia and art

As the crisis of administrative legitimacy deepens at the CHP Headquarters, scientists, economists, and writers have joined artists in raising their voices. Following the move by seven artists the day before yesterday to ban the party's current staff and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu from using their works on the grounds of "absolute nullity," a large number of academics and public opinion researchers adopted a similar stance today.

In a series of statements, academics and experts declared that they refuse to allow their work to be used in any form by the current CHP administration. In messages shared on social media, it was emphasized that these bans are a reaction and an act of self-defense against administrative practices described as "antidemocratic."

The academics stated that their works and data were produced for the public good and declared that they would not allow them to be exploited in environments where the legitimacy of the administration has become a matter of debate.

BÜLENT ŞIK: "I DO NOT AUTHORIZE THE VOID ADMINISTRATION TO USE MY DATA"

Food engineer and human rights defender Bülent Şık informed the public that although his work is publicly available, he does not find it appropriate for the current CHP administration to utilize this data.

Prof. Dr. Aziz Çelik also expressed that it is not appropriate for the scientific output he has produced in the field of labor economics to be "republished or used for different purposes." Çelik pointed out that work done with the goal of "social value" should not be evaluated within structures that are legally and ethically debated.

Sociologist Cemil Kılıç shared his self-criticism regarding the process, stating that he apologized to the public for the support he had given in the past.

Prof. Dr. Uğur Emek stated that, as a matter of academic responsibility, antidemocratic practices should not be met with silence, noting that he is taking his stand on the right side of history.

Journalist Ünsal Ünlü evaluated this protest as "an example of civil disobedience and a move toward social isolation." Ünlü stated the following:

"The stance taken by artists, writers, and academics saying 'The Voidists cannot use my works' is very important. The 'condemnation to non-existence' of Kılıçdaroğlu and his team—that is, being rendered insignificant and left alone—is exactly the answer to the public's question, 'Legal rules are not being applied, what can I do?' because..."
