Access to İmamoğlu's account blocked once again

The X account opened on behalf of Ekrem İmamoğlu's Presidential Candidacy Office has been blocked from access for the third time on the grounds of "protection of national security and public order." According to information announced by EngelliWeb, the accounts named CBAdayOfisi, CBAdayOfisi1, and CBAdayOfisi11 were made invisible from Turkey on the X platform following the access blocking decision in Turkey. However, it was noted that the account has not yet been completely shut down for access worldwide.

REACTION FROM İMAMOĞLU

Following the blocking of the account, İmamoğlu made a statement on the social media platform. In his post, İmamoğlu stated that the ban in question was "a senseless attack on Turkish democracy, rights, and freedoms," and said the following:

"If there is a national security issue, it is these senseless, mediocre attacks on Turkish democracy, rights, and freedoms."

İmamoğlu further expressed that the bans only further highlight the inconsistencies and prove their justification:

"Those who trust their indictment do not hide behind bans. By banning our social media accounts that expose your inconsistencies, you only confirm our justification."

REACTION TO THE INDICTMENT: "A POLITICAL OPERATION"

In his statement, İmamoğlu asserted that the indictment is a political operation, emphasizing that this operation has been proven to all of Turkey and the world:

"Furthermore, thanks to the AK Party officials who decided to campaign for this indictment. You have proven to all of Turkey and the world that my arrest, the operation, and the indictment are entirely political and that their owner is clear."

At the end of his remarks, İmamoğlu added:

"We are facing a handful of ambitious people. You have forgotten all the country's problems and, as we said months ago, you have gone mad! How wonderful that it will not be brute force that wins, but reason!"

PREVIOUS BANS

İmamoğlu's X account with 9.7 million followers was blocked from access by the decision of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated April 24, 2025, on the grounds of "protection of national security and public order." The X platform had made the account completely invisible from Turkey.

İmamoğlu's international X account was also previously blocked in May 2025 for similar reasons, but it was not made invisible from Turkey.
