Actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, who called for a boycott, also detained
Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into boycott calls made on social media. While detention warrants were issued for 16 people as part of the investigation, 10 individuals have been taken into custody. Among those detained is the famous actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu.

DETENTION WARRANTS FOR 16 PEOPLE: 10 IN CUSTODY
Within the scope of the investigation, 16 people who made boycott calls on social media were identified. Detention warrants were issued for these individuals. In operations launched by teams from the Istanbul Police Department, 10 people were apprehended and taken into custody. The 10 individuals detained were brought to the Security Branch Directorate of the Istanbul Police Department.

According to reports from Halk TV, it was learned that famous actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu is among those detained.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Those supporting the protests that began with the detention and arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu had called for a "boycott" for the previous day. A statement regarding the "boycott" also came from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
Government and business world representatives reacted to the "boycott" calls, stating that targeting the country's economy is not a valid stance.
It was also announced yesterday that actress Aybüke Pusat, who shared a "boycott" post, was removed from the TRT series "Teşkilat".
