Ahmet Davutoğlu: 'If there is a success in Syria, it belongs to me and Erdoğan'

Gelecek Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu made significant remarks regarding the latest developments in Syria. Speaking after the fall of the Assad regime and the terrorist organization HTS taking control of the capital, Damascus, Davutoğlu said, "Assad knew he would reach this point if he did not heed Turkey's warnings. If he had listened, perhaps a democracy that could serve as an example for the Middle East could have been established in a Damascus at peace with its people right now" he stated.

Davutoğlu, who previously served as Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in AKP governments, used the following expressions regarding the situation in Syria: "If there is a success, it belongs to all of us, primarily Mr. Erdoğan."

'IF TURKEY HAD STOOD BY ASSAD...'

Touching upon how important it was for Turkey to stand against Assad, Davutoğlu emphasized that Turkey followed the right strategy, saying, "If Turkey had stood by Assad, it wouldn't just be Assad's statues being burned right now, but perhaps Erdoğan's photos as well."
