Ahmet Davutoğlu's statement on the 'solution process': 'I supported it at the time'

Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, at the joint Saadet-Future Party parliamentary group meeting, evaluated the discussions on the solution process initiated by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the new legislative term.

Davutoğlu stated that there are two possibilities, saying, "Either there is a national strategic plan, and they are saying we must solve these problems, prepare for the risk of a new war, and heal internal wounds. If that is what they are saying, I am behind it all the way."

Criticizing the current situation, Davutoğlu said, "Or, if they are making a tactical maneuver just like when they received a letter from Öcalan before the 2019 elections, or like when they declared us all terrorists with fake videos before the 2023 elections, then we will oppose it all the way."

'I SUPPORTED THE SOLUTION PROCESS'

Davutoğlu stated that he supported the solution process in the past as he saw it as a national project, but that he also fought against terrorists when the process disrupted public order, adding, "This matter has two pillars: complete and full democracy, and uncompromising public administration. If these two pillars falter, it will not work."

Recalling the periods in the past when mothers could not speak their own languages, Davutoğlu asked the MHP, "Why did you declare war to remove Kurdish signs? Why did you treat those who thought differently as terrorists?"

Davutoğlu stated that their party's view is clear and explicit, expressing that they have adopted an approach that never compromises on terror while maintaining a public order sensitive to human rights in terms of democratic rights and freedoms.

The Future Party Chairman emphasized that mistakes made during the solution process should not be repeated, saying, "The relevant parties, especially DEM, must not repeat the mistakes we made during the solution process."

SAADET PARTY: THEY ARE STABBING THIS NATION IN THE BACK

Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Mahmut Arıkan criticized the AK Party regarding Israel in his speech. Arıkan said, "The AKP could not prevent the murder of a single oppressed person. They will not be able to do anything in 2025, they will not be able to impose any sanctions because they have taken off the 'National View' (Milli Görüş) shirt."

Arıkan said the following:

"The Grand National Assembly of Turkey will stand until the end of time, not with worldly calculations but in a spiritual sense. This roof is not a House of Lords. With this awareness, there was only one thing in the hundreds of parliamentary questions, legislative proposals, research motions, and podium speeches of the past term: the citizen. We ensured that our farmers who left their produce in the fields, our teacher candidates whose rights were usurped through interviews, our minimum wage earners, our civil servants, our retirees living on salaries below the hunger threshold, our youth whose futures were stolen, and our children who have to go to school hungry could seek their rights by voicing their cries from this podium. The AKP and MHP groups are stabbing this nation in the back by rejecting all our motions. Every corner of the world is woven with either conflicts or tensions. The time has come for us to present a new proposal in the light of a new world ideal. Israel's massacre, one of the greatest genocides in modern history, has been continuing for a year. We have said many times that Zionism is trying to turn our entire region into a bloodbath. We do not accept Turkey remaining helpless because of the AKP, or even taking part in logistical support on the Zionist side. The AKP could not prevent the murder of a single oppressed person. They will not be able to do anything in 2025, they will not be able to impose any sanctions because they have taken off the 'National View' shirt. This fire cannot be resisted by staying silent or by shouting, but only with faith and honor."
