Ahmet Türk points to two names for Imralı visit
Former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Ahmet Türk made statements regarding a potential meeting to be held at Imralı. Stating that he expects a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan, Türk pointed to Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder as the names likely to go to Imralı.
Ahmet Türk, the Co-Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee, answered questions during a live broadcast on İlke TV regarding developments in Syria and the topics of a "meeting with Abdullah Öcalan," which came to the agenda following the statements of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.
Criticizing Turkey's Syria policy, Ahmet Türk said, “You cannot achieve peace at home by attacking Kurds in Syria. If Turkey continues its hostility toward Kurds, it becomes impossible to speak of peace. What kind of peace will the Kurds achieve in an occupied Syria?”
Ahmet Türk also stated that he believes a meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan will take place.
Pointing to DEM Party Van MP Pervin Buldan and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Sırrı Süreyya Önder for the meeting, Türk said, "The probability of them going is higher.”
