AK Party submits 'earthquake' legislative proposal
A legislative proposal regarding the transformation of buildings located in areas under earthquake risk has been submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) by the AK Party.
A legislative proposal regarding urban transformation in areas under disaster risk has been submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with the signatures of AK Party Istanbul Deputy Mustafa Demir, Afyonkarahisar Deputy Ali Özkaya, and other AK Party deputies. According to the 21-article proposal, judicial processes related to the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes will be accelerated. The loan provided to the General Directorate of Urban Transformation Services and financed by the World Bank will be made available for use by the Presidency of Urban Transformation.
Regulations will be made regarding the definition of reserve building areas. The duties and authorities granted to the ministry concerning the restriction of zoning and construction rights, as well as the suspension of services such as electricity, water, and natural gas to structures in these areas, will be exercised by the Presidency of Urban Transformation.
