AKP begins election preparations in Kızılcahamam: First meeting with the new organization

The ruling AKP party will hold a retreat in the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara between July 11 and 13, 2025. The retreat will be chaired by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

While it is stated that Erdoğan will deliver the opening and closing speeches of the retreat, members of the Central Executive Board (MYK), the Central Decision and Administrative Board (MKYK), ministers, members of parliament, and the party's founding staff will attend the program.

FIRST COMPREHENSIVE MEETING WITH THE NEW ORGANIZATION

The retreat, which serves as the first comprehensive meeting with the organizations renewed after the ordinary congress held in February, is seen as one of the critical steps in the AK Party's preparation process for the 2028 general elections. Throughout the retreat, field reports from the organizations and recent public opinion polls will also be subject to evaluation.

MINISTERS WILL PRESENT STRATEGIES

One of the important parts of the retreat will be the presentations by cabinet members. Ministers will make presentations in many areas, primarily economy, education, health, security, justice, energy, environment, and foreign policy, providing information regarding the current situation and future vision. Following the presentations, questions from members of parliament and party members will also be taken.

Within the scope of the retreat, some meetings will also be held as closed sessions under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan. In these sessions, critical topics such as intra-party discipline, new communication strategies, alliance relations, and the propaganda language to be followed in the 2028 elections will be discussed.

TBMM AND HEADQUARTERS PRESENTATIONS

The retreat program will include two other special sessions: "Headquarters Studies" and "TBMM Group Studies." Under these headings, issues such as legislative proposals in Parliament, group discipline, and relations with the opposition will be evaluated. In addition, technical presentations on election law and political ethics rules are expected to be made.
