AKP corridors stir after Erdoğan signals Cabinet reshuffle: 'They shouldn't stay in office a day longer'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, signaled a change in the Cabinet during his remarks to journalists on the plane returning from Albania.

In his statement, Erdoğan "In the new process, just as there may be some changes among the deputy chairmen, we will make our evaluations regarding the Cabinet as the situation requires. There may be some changes there as well" had stated.

Following these remarks, the corridors of the AKP have become active. According to the report in Gazete Duvar, Numerous comments have been made regarding when the Cabinet change will take place and who might leave or join.

Many politicians believe the reshuffle process will coincide with the party congress. However, it has been learned that there are those within the party who object to this.

"THEY SHOULDN'T STAY IN OFFICE FOR ANOTHER DAY"

It was reported that a party official said, "There are some issues regarding the ministers, and if a change is being considered, they shouldn't stay in office for another day. This only causes the problems to grow even larger." the official stated.

Pointing out that the decision regarding the Cabinet reshuffle rests with Erdoğan, the common view among party members is that one should not become a minister without first serving as a party executive or a member of parliament.
