AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler criticizes party members: 'No one but the old guard like us is upset about losing, only we are upset'

AKP writer and polling company owner İhsan Aktaş, who recounted in his column in Yeni Şafak how the AKP's proposal was rejected by a majority vote in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), emphasized the 'suffering' of former AKP İBB Group Deputy Chairman Tevfik Göksu.

Describing the rejection of the proposal with the words, "Imamoğlu sips his coffee while saying, 'Those in favor, those against. The AK Party group's proposal has been rejected,'" Aktaş continued as follows:

“As Imamoğlu sips his coffee while looking at the AK Party group, the camera turns to the AK Party group. Former AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Tevfik Göksu is in the frame. Göksu appears to be in such deep suffering that this image is worth writing hundreds of articles about.”

Aktaş subsequently drew attention to the words of AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler. Reporting Güler's remarks regarding the new AKP administration, Aktaş wrote:

“When the AK Party lost the 2019 local elections due to trivial issues, current AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, who took an active role in the election processes, made an interesting observation: 'Mr. İhsan, I noticed something about the provincial administration and those who came from Ankara. No one but the old guard like us is upset about losing; only we are upset.' Upon Abdullah Bey's warning, I listened to people more carefully and saw for myself how right he was.”
