İrfan Topçu, an AKP municipal council member in Karabük, announced his resignation from the party after his car was towed in traffic.
İrfan Topçu, who was among the founding provincial board members of the AKP in Karabük in 2002 and was elected as an AKP municipal council member for Karabük in the local elections on March 31, 2024, claimed in a social media post that the towing of his car was unlawful, listing 9 points. Topçu stated, "To those who try to deal with me by giving instructions to your subordinates using the authority granted by the state, I f.u.c.k your honor, your dignity, your integrity, and your authority."
According to the report by Sözcü, Topçu announced his resignation from the AKP following this post.
Sharing his Political Party Registry Inquiry record via e-Government, Topçu stated, "I have resigned from the AK Party, of which I have been a member since the day it was founded. I have no membership or transition to any other party. I will continue as an independent in my Municipal Council membership."
