AKP's Öcalan plan leaked from behind the scenes! 'Everyone will see at the end of the process'

The "Terror-Free Turkey" process, initiated in 2024 at the call of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli and moved to Parliament following the PKK's laying down of arms, is passing through significant stages. While Parliament is in recess, the AKP leadership, meeting with citizens under the name "Turkey Meetings," states that the process is receiving broad support.

As the commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) begins its work within the scope of the new opening process—of which MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli is the architect and the government calls "Terror-Free Turkey"—the AKP leadership has simultaneously embarked on a persuasion tour under the name "Public Meetings" to explain the process.

According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, AKP officials, who claim that the process is receiving broad support, also spoke about the allegations that terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan would be granted amnesty.

According to information obtained from sources close to the government, AKP members stated, "Wherever we go, we are met with the question, 'Will there be an amnesty for Öcalan?' We explain that no such situation exists and that there will not be one in the future. At the end of the process, everyone will see that there will be no amnesty for Öcalan. In any case, he does not want to leave İmralı himself."

Arguing that the country is becoming stronger with the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, AKP officials stated that the state is conducting the process with care. They used the expressions, "No one should expect an amnesty for Öcalan. We are explaining over and over again that we will absolutely not bring this to the agenda and that there is no bargaining with the organization."
