Akşener hands over duties to Dervişoğlu in İYİ Party

Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who was elected as the party's chairman at the İYİ Party Extraordinary Convention, has taken over the duties from the previous chair, Meral Akşener.

During the handover ceremony held at the İYİ Party Headquarters, a tea chat between Müsavat Dervişoğlu and Meral Akşener, which was open to the press, was captured on camera. Akşener's words as she handed flowers to Dervişoğlu, "May it lead to your time in power, God willing," drew attention.

'2017 SAPLINGS' FOR AKŞENER

Recalling that the İYİ Party was founded in 2017 with the planting of a sapling, Dervişoğlu presented Akşener with a gift of '2017 saplings' donated in her name to the TEMA Foundation.

Speaking at the end of the ceremony, Dervişoğlu stated, "This journey is one of freedom and independence for our nation, a reminder of what has been forgotten for our democracy, and a journey of prestige for our state. In every step of this journey, there is the sweat, struggle, and sacrifice of our esteemed Chairwoman. In the presence of the Turkish nation, I express my gratitude to her for her contributions to our country."

AKŞENER'S ASSESSMENT OF THE CONVENTION

Akşener, for her part, emphasized that the İYİ Party Convention took place in an atmosphere of peace, expressing her hope: "When we founded our party, we became 'us.' This was not a job for one person to do. It was a very interesting congress. It was different from systems where everyone insults everyone else. We achieved a first at our convention. When you look at these, we are a political party that has formed its institutional structure. God willing, the path to power will open in the coming period."
