CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır made statements ahead of the CHP's congress to be held tomorrow.

''I WILL LEAVE MY POSITIONS''

Ali Mahir Başarır stated in his remarks to Sözcü TV that he would vote for Özgür Özel, that Özel would become a candidate with over 500 votes, and would be elected with over 700 votes. Başarır said, "If we lose, I will not be a party to this bad course; I will leave my positions."

Activity continues within the Republican People's Party (CHP) just hours before its 38th Ordinary Congress.

''MY VOTE IS FOR MR. ÖZGÜR ÖZEL''

In his statement, Başarır said, "The seat I occupy is not important. The future of my party is more important. I became a member of the CHP before the current Chairman. My vote is for Mr. Özgür Özel. I also gave my signature to Özel with peace of mind."

Başarır stated that Özel would become a candidate with over 500 votes and would be elected with over 700 votes.
