In the AKP, which has already announced mayoral candidates for 26 cities including Istanbul, all eyes have turned to January 15.

According to a report by Ahmet Örsoğlu from NTV; the candidates for the remaining cities, including Ankara and İzmir, will be announced at the candidate introduction launch to be held next week. On the other hand, it has been learned that district mayoral candidates will be introduced at a later date.

The election manifesto will also be announced at the AKP's candidate introduction program on January 15.

It has been learned that the manifesto will consist of 8 headings. The 200-page text will include sections on safe and resilient cities, service-oriented municipalism, social municipalism, and culture. A separate focus will be placed on the earthquake zone.

ALLIANCE NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE

Continuing its alliance negotiations, the AKP will meet with HÜDA-PAR and the New Welfare Party one last time this weekend.

It is alleged that the New Welfare Party is expecting support in one of the metropolitan cities in exchange for supporting the AKP candidate in Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir.

The AKP front, however, is seeking a consensus through district municipalities or council memberships.

Representatives of the New Welfare Party are of the opinion that their 2.8 percent vote share in the last elections is critical for the Istanbul elections.

Support for the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Murat Kurum has come from the Great Unity Party (BBP).
