Allegations of an expulsion file for Kılıçdaroğlu: He said, 'I will not forgive him'!
The crisis within the CHP has deepened following the Ankara Regional Court of Justice's ruling of "absolute nullity," which invalidated the party's 38th Ordinary Congress. The intervention at the CHP Headquarters during the process in which Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was reinstated as chairman, along with the internal party tensions and preparations for expulsions, have become the center of the political agenda.
With the "absolute nullity" ruling uploaded to the UYAP system by the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice on the evening of May 21, the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, held on November 4-5, 2023, was declared invalid. With this decision, the terms of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and other party organs were terminated.
Following the court's decision, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was reinstated as the Chairman of the CHP.
TENSIONS RISE AT CHP HEADQUARTERS
Following the decision, tensions escalated at the party headquarters after Özgür Özel refused to accept the process and initiated a resistance at the CHP General Headquarters.
After two separate petitions were submitted to the Ankara Governorship by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, teams from the Ankara Provincial Security Directorate conducted an operation to evacuate the CHP Headquarters. It was reported that hundreds of police officers took part in the intervention and that pepper spray and plastic bullets were used against CHP members.
It was stated that while damage occurred in the party building following the events, Özgür Özel began a march to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the crowd accompanying him. It was learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's team entered the CHP Headquarters following the intervention.
KILIÇDAROĞLU TO ARRIVE AT HEADQUARTERS ON MAY 30
It was reported that work began yesterday to repair the damage caused at the CHP Headquarters.
It has been learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to arrive at the CHP Headquarters on May 30 to celebrate the holiday with party members. It was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu would address the crowd expected to gather in the headquarters garden on the same day.
It was noted that he would begin his primary work within the party as of June 1.
EXPULSION FILES ARE ON THE AGENDA OF THE PARTY ASSEMBLY AND THE MYK
It was stated that after the Party Assembly meeting, names being considered for expulsion from the party are expected to be presented to the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK).
While it is alleged that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu called for "tolerance" during his meetings with his aides, it was reported that CHP İzmir Deputy Mahir Polat also made statements regarding the matter.
Polat stated, "Mr. Kemal even forgave and made peace with the person who attacked him in Ankara in recent weeks. Of course, he will forgive our CHP friends who ask for his forgiveness and apologize to him."
ALLEGATIONS REGARDING ALİ MAHİR BAŞARIR HAVE BECOME A TOPIC OF DISCUSSION
It was stated that on the morning of May 24, a group supporting Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu gathered in front of the CHP Headquarters along with some CHP deputies and Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyers.
Following the scuffle, it was reported that CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır used harsh language toward Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. It was stated that Başarır said, "If he is going to have his friends, with whom he walked shoulder to shoulder for years, beaten or killed, then may God damn him. This nation will not forgive him. History will not forgive him."
Following these statements, it was alleged that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu reacted strongly and that preparations would be initiated to expel Ali Mahir Başarır from the CHP.
CHP MAYORS TO BE ASKED FOR DEFENSE
It was stated that CHP mayors, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who are currently facing ongoing legal proceedings due to various accusations, would also be asked to submit a defense to the party leadership.
It was noted that after the defense processes are completed, those deemed necessary will be referred to the CHP High Disciplinary Board following an evaluation by the Central Executive Board (MYK).
BALANCE IN THE HIGH DISCIPLINARY BOARD DRAWS ATTENTION
It was stated that following the absolute nullity ruling, the CHP High Disciplinary Board that served before November 2023 has become effective once again.
