It has been alleged that underage vocational high school students working as interns at the TBMM restaurant were subjected to sexual abuse by Parliament staff. According to information reported by Birgün, the incident came to light after a 16-year-old girl showed a message sent to her to the authorities. It was stated that the father of one of the students also took the matter to the prosecutor's office.

GENERAL SECRETARIAT LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION

It has been learned that the TBMM General Secretariat is handling the scandalous allegations with "sensitivity" and that the process has been deepened to investigate the matter in all its aspects. It was stated that officials have been conducting one-on-one interviews with the intern students.

ALLEGATIONS THAT THE ABUSE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS

According to the allegations, some female vocational and technical high school students interning at the TBMM restaurant have been abused by Parliament staff for a long time. It is claimed that this situation has been ongoing for years and that many students have been victimized in a similar manner.

According to the information obtained, the process took on a new dimension when one student told her family about the incident. It was reported that some staff members sent messages to the intern children containing phrases such as "my little sweetheart." It was reported that the TBMM General Secretariat will pursue the matter decisively by meeting with all parties involved.

ALLEGATION THAT THEY WERE "SHARING THE INTERNS"

TBMM sources shared the estimate that the perpetrators of the abuse were a group of approximately 10 people. According to the sources, these individuals allegedly spoke among themselves regarding the intern students who arrived each year, saying things like, "This intern is mine, that one is yours."

PARLIAMENT CONFIRMS THE SCANDAL: ONE STAFF MEMBER SUSPENDED

According to the report by Mustafa Bildircin, the General Secretariat of the Turkish Grand National Assembly confirmed the abuse scandal in a statement regarding the matter.

The statement emphasized that an administrative investigation was launched following the submitted complaint petition, noting that one public official has been suspended from duty and that investigations into other individuals named in the complaint are ongoing.

The statement also indicated that information obtained during the investigation would be shared with judicial authorities.

The full text of the statement is as follows:

"Following a complaint petition submitted to the General Secretariat of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on November 19, 2025, by the family of an intern working at our institution during the 2024-2025 academic year, an administrative investigation into the matter was initiated without delay on November 20, 2025.

The allegations contained in the petition are being meticulously examined as part of the investigation, and to date, one public official working as a cook was suspended from duty on December 4, 2025. The investigation into other individuals subject to the complaint is continuing in depth.

The investigation is expected to be completed by December 12, 2025, and necessary disciplinary actions, including dismissal from public service or termination of employment contracts, will be applied to those involved. The findings obtained within the scope of the ongoing investigation will be shared with judicial authorities."
