Alliance message from Özgür Özel and a jab at İYİ Party: 'Good people will decide'

As Turkey heads toward local elections, political parties have accelerated their campaign efforts.

In the CHP, where the 'cooperation' proposal made to the İYİ Party was rejected, Chairman Özgür Özel made significant statements regarding the local elections.

According to a report by Sözcü, Özel made a jab at the İYİ Party, saying, "The voters of the İYİ Party are republican and Atatürk nationalists. They do not want to cause a municipality to be lost by the CHP and gifted to the AKP or MHP. The alliance that could not be formed at the top will be formed by Atatürkists in the neighborhoods, towns, districts, and at the ballot box. Good people will make a good decision."

Stating that "We must form the Turkey alliance," Özel added, "There was a sense of resentment and bitterness among voters after the general elections. They were saying they would not go to the polls. There is a significant rise in morale and hope following the party congress."

On the other hand, speaking about Ege Akersoy, who punched a person carrying a tawhid flag, Özel asked, "Were those who punched Kılıçdaroğlu in Parliament and those who attacked and tried to lynch him in Çubuk arrested?"
