Another resignation in the CHP!

Beykoz Deputy Mayor Melih Karakaya announced in a statement on his social media account that he has resigned from his position as Deputy Mayor of Beykoz as of today. Karakaya announced his resignation to the public, ending his tenure which began on March 10, 2025.

"IF I COULD LEAVE A MARK IN YOUR HEARTS, HOW HAPPY FOR ME"

In his resignation statement, Karakaya emphasized that his only goal during his tenure was to sincerely and honestly find solutions to the needs of the people of Beykoz, stating, "If I could leave a mark in your hearts, even if for a short time, how happy for me."

Karakaya thanked all the people of Beykoz who trusted and supported him. He also stated the following: "Your prayers are more valuable to me than any position or title. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the valuable municipal staff with whom I worked shoulder to shoulder, to the institutions of our state whose support I always felt, to our neighborhood heads (muhtars), and to the valuable representatives of our non-governmental organizations and sports clubs."

'I WILL CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE UNDER THE ROOF OF THE CHP'

At the end of his statement, Karakaya emphasized that he would continue the struggle for Beykoz with the same determination and that he would continue this struggle under the roof of the Republican People's Party (CHP). "Whether I hold a position or not, I will continue to fight for Beykoz, where I was born, raised, and feel a sense of belonging, with the same determination under the roof of the Republican People's Party," he said.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had announced that Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel would join the AKP. Erdoğan had announced that he would pin the AKP badge on Gürzel and the Beykoz Municipal Council members who resigned from the CHP at the AKP Organization Academy closing program on Saturday.
